OC I didnt expect to love: literally any character developed in the 2nd half of a story haha. I came to like Ridriel & Trillia & John way more than I thought I would.
I start stories because I already love the leads--but the side characters take on unexpected lives of their own.
OC I didn't expect to be popular? WELL I did just mention Bethan and Astrid, lol. It was my own fault, I liked them too much myself. XD
Have I ever made a self-insert: I haven't ever deliberately set out to do so, but sometimes I find myself realizing that a character is just acting approximately how I would (or how I would want to). Bethan started out like that but eventually grew away, lol.
Oldest and youngest OCs?
Teeko is 9-- there's an upcoming minor character in Wychwood who's even younger (5), but not sure if he counts, haha.
Oldest OC is a spoiler. :D
An OC that's difficult to draw/write... usually, this happens when I haven't yet discovered their voice, and they'll become easier for me to write as I go. The lead characters of one story I've nicknamed 'Spacedragons' have been stubborn, but I'm sure they'll come when it's time.
OCs I've been neglecting-- oh, plenty. My 'comics' folder on my HDD has 28 folders in it!!! It's just not possible to keep that many characters at the front of my mind all the time (especially since several of those comics have 20+ cast members).
Here's a few random ones!
Favourite OC design.... hmmmmm. Well, I couldn't always draw all this dang detail in every panel, but I'm still pretty proud of Trillia's true form from Chirault.
Newest OC has gotta be this binch, from the short story I'm working on for Webtoon. Meet Cal! They were born (almost) yesterday.
