i could write a storm about how terrible Forces is but i cba to do that, i just hope the next sonic game isn't as much of a failure.
anyway, here are the best sonic games you can play atm
• Sonic Adventure 2 (Steam)
• Sonic 3 & Knuckles (S3 A.I.R.)
• Sonic Generations (Steam)
Handheld Games (didn't know where to put these, so they'll go here)
• they're fine, but some of them suffer from unfair level design.
• i do like what they attempted to do with the 2D formula, and i hope that the next 2D sonic game tries to innovate like these games did
Sonic Adventure (1998)
• the modern sonic design is idealic, it makes sonic seem more rad, "teen" and less cutesy. i wish it was appreciated more.
• adventure itself is a good game, the other playstyles are jarring and its got rough edges, but thats what sonic is
• banging ost
Sonic 3 & Knuckles (1994)
• the most QUALITY game in the entire franchise, stellar visuals and level design and mastery of visual storytelling. provides lore to the sonic series that i greatly appreciate.
• knuckles is great, i wish he stayed a side character.
