Speaking of maligned historical figures, a quote from a contemporary about madame du Barry: "[She] made distributions of bread, meat and wood to the [local poor]; all the unfortunate received assistance, or rather there were no longer any unfortunate. … She was much regretted."

July 3rd, 1793: Marie Antoinette's son, Louis Charles, is separated from his family in the Temple tower. His sister would later write of that day: 'My mother told them they would have to kill her before they could tear her child from her.'

I can't stop playing around with making Marie Antoinettes in @Artbreeder! No particular goal just messing around after combining some portraits and a bust. Here are the latest.

Oct. 16, 1793: Upon reaching the scaffold, Marie Antoinette climbed lightly up the steps before accidentally stepping on the foot of her executioner. “Pardon me, monsieur,” she said. “I did not do it on purpose.”

I can't wait for the individual tickets for the @DetOperaHouse 2019-2020 season to go on sale in just over a week... I want to see Swan Lake 3 times!
