Monster Boy and Monster Tale. I love how much Monster Tale reminds me of the Monster World series, especially MW4 (will be covered later).

Jin and Ellie look as if they could have been siblings with the blue hair and green eyes. Seeing them meet in artwork would be so cool!

Frog Form (Monster Boy) and Frog (Chrono Trigger). Both are humans that were turned into frogs at one point in their life and are swordsmen who have abilities that require their tongue.

They are heroes from incredible games with soundtracks that are simply unforgettable.

3.)

Sonia and Saria.

The two are girls known for being "fairies" that live in a forested area and both play the ocarina. They end up giving a male hero their ocarina as means to progress on their adventure.

Both MW3 and OOT have musical jingles that open sealed doors as well.

2.)

Monster World 4 and Wario Land 4.

Both game's artwork feature a character in a forest or jungle with a floating creature that is known for helping them across the adventure. They also both feature stage-based worlds and wonderful pixel art. The "4" is similar in color too!

1.)

The first idea I'd like to share with you all is the resemblance from Pepelogoo's biggest form and Totoro from "My Neighbor Totoro" by @JP_GHIBLI .

It would be magical if the right piece was referenced, but with Asha and Pepe on the branch together.

I don't recall if I've covered this or not, but I'm almost certain this is a callback to the original Dragon's Trap! It is the same energy! 😆

She is now complete! I took some liberties and decided to change her design a bit as well as giving her a unique fan based on the four spirits. ☀️🌙🍃🌎

As a bonus, here are two extras that for some reason I forgot to share here. One is based on a cut scene from project SADF while the other is based on a version of the "Wonderful Southern Islands" attire. Anyway, hope you enjoy! 😆
