However, it often bothers me how a temptation 2 stick big names on #Avengers team is a thing 2 do. I get it. Marketing/Sales. It makes sense that #Spidey & #Wolverine be showcased in what should be a flagship book. #XMen was that once upon a time. #SpiderMan was never an X-Man

So though #SpiderMan (e.g.) was an honorary member & on various teams from time to time, he was never meant to be a tent pole. Maybe he is now because #Spidey sells. Same for #Wolverine. That was never the intent. That’s not to say mutants aren’t deserving & should only be #XMen.

#Avengers were never meant to be #JusticeLeague. Yes, there’s a rotating roster & at one time or another a vetting process. Yes leadership rotated too. But unlike #JLA where the Trinity is a part of the mythos; #Avengers was not meant to be a catch all for #Marvel’s biggest names

I say this to say that in the Golden Age & part of the Silver Age as well, though fantasy & science were adventurous journeys, often the scientists themselves were villainize.
