Working back through GOSPEL #1 I'm remembering what I was reading as I drew each page. It was 20th Century Boys for this one and I remember being pleased as punch that, to my eye, there was the tiniest hint of Urasawa about this little weasel's face.
Gospel, my new historical fantasy from @imagecomics, will be on sale 9th Nov! When opportunity refuses to knock for restless hero Matilde, the devil comes knocking instead. You can pre-order Gospel at your local comic shop (SEP220024). Preview pages at https://t.co/IIlqz6Xwm8
What do you like to see in the back pages of a comic? I have a couple of pages to play with for Gospel #1. These are the earliest character sketches I could find. What process stuff is interesting? Should I draw a Tolkienesque map and age it with coffee?
A hi-octane preview page from Gospel #1 (available to order at your local comic shop) and a close-up panel featuring giant boar slobber
Here's a reworked panel from Gospel Issue 1. I was learning a lot as I made the book and the original just never sat right with me. Is the new one better? Just different? I don't know. I think the viewpoint has more to say.
A panel from my upcoming comic that won't see print due to some editing - I like the sequence though.
Exciting to see the launch of @ThoughtBubbleUK's: https://t.co/M44ZTvk72Z. You can find me in the lofty grandeur of Valhalla Hall. I have The Silver Darlings and The Call of the Wild for sale while I put the finishing touches on my new book, coming next year.
