Mirrormere or Kheled-zâram in Khuzdul was the lake 'Durin the Deathless' looked into & saw a crown of stars above his head. A reflection of the stars even though it was daytime. Taking the crown as a sign Durin founded Khazad-dûm under the mountains that fed the Mirrormere. #LOTR
At the start of the TA Isildur visited Halifirien and created the tomb for his father, who perished in combat with Sauron. Once complete Isildur had Elendil's casket placed in the tomb & hallowed the place. Ever after the mountain was known as Amon Anwar, "Hill of Awe" #Tolkien
