Spiny orb weaver (Rubrepeira rubronigra) from the Ecuadorian Amazon, in my opinion one of the most beautiful spiders out there. It is the only species in its genus. Usually its body is thinner with longer spikes, but this is a gravid female ready to lay eggs.
Chunky dung beetle (Dichotomius podalirius) from the Ecuadorian Amazon. These beetles always crash into my face at night when I'm using a headlamp. I hope it doesn't mean I smell like fresh dung...
@Ibycter That's the color. It has semi-transparent elytra, much like this Aegithus sp.
This tiger moth (Macrocneme sp.) was running around flicking its wings like a spider wasp. Mimicry or not? discuss.
