Today is the day!! THE MARS CHALLENGE is out. I hope you all enjoy it, @aliwilgus and I worked super hard on it.

After that, it was on to inks & colors. I would've loved to get more into some of the tech (and got to later on in a few wide shots), but...this is comics! And a lot of the backgrounds are gonna be covered up by word balloons.

Anyways, the palette had me frazzled. I spent a whole day trying stuff that didn't work. But then I remembered this image I'd saved of a dentist's office from inside the Kowloon Walled City, and it felt close to what I wanted color-wise. So I turned it into a palette in PS (3/4)
I wanted it to look rusty and cobbled together, with lots of muted reds and browns and yelllows. Canonically, space travel is still in its relative infancy; the ship is closer to a Millenium Falcon or a Bebop than, say, an Enterprise (2/4)
