Devil May Cry 1 & Bayonetta were supposed to be set in the same universe. The picture is from Bayonetta's official art book where Enzo is seen beating Dante at Poker and taking everything he has (including Alastor + Ebony & Ivory)! Dante even has his iconic strawberry sundae!

Regardless of what the next installment in the DMC series is i'm hoping they go back to a more gothic, creepy setting ala the original Devil May Cry. The concept art for the game is amazing and Mallet Island is trippy af when you take a closer look

Devil May Cry's working title was 'Karnival'. This was eventually changed later in development but as a throw back to the games original name, the bi-plane you find in Mallet Island was named Karnival. This name was also mentioned in Viewtiful Joe where Dante makes an appearance.

Going through some DBZF trials atm and theyre surprisingly easy for an arcsys game (either that or my execution has gotten better which i doubt). Might stream some of them and the story/arcade tomorrow
