one of the most underrated aspects of tgcf is the domesticity of it all 🥺 the scenes where hualian are in puqi shrine just cooking, sweeping, definitely added flavour to the story
i love how hua cheng spent eight hundred years looking for the one who saved his life, and once he finally found his god, the first thing he does is to playfully contradict xie lian 🙈
hua cheng didn't even know that it had been literal years since xie lian was able to smile so freely; but he earned it so easily, just by treating xie lian with respect and building a door for him—no wonder xie lian fell in love fast ☺️
