That said, there is a big difference between just having a style that is influenced or similar to another one (or making fan art) and intentionally copying an existing style or artwork beat for beat WITHOUT giving proper credit.

Or, let’s take a more common example. Who remembers the #artstylechallenge ? Same thing. All of these are, essentially “stealing the art style” of something else.
