The parasitic fly Linnaemyia picta...never seen in Yorkshire before last year, but suddenly turned up late summer in huge numbers in East Yorkshire. Hope we'll be back outside later in the year to look out for them again. 🙂 @DipteristsForum @YorksWildlife @ynuorg

Several Micropezidae around locally this week at #AllerthorpeCommon, including these male and female Neria cibaria. Distinctive genitalia on both sexes. @DipteristsForum

Just about a month to go now before the first sallow-visiting Andrena appear on lowland heath in the Vale of York...Andrena ruficrus among the first to appear.
