My current d&d character. The extremely unathletic and greasy rock gnome/mage, Daniel Jackson. Found a gargoyle head called Gary in the first quest, who is now permanently tied to my back. Gary design by @aliceduke https://t.co/O6ut3PPtHO
After a lot of other work, on textures, UI, marketing material and other bits and pieces, we took a fresh look at the scenes that had already been completed and decided that a redesign was necessary. These are the final concepts of the four main scenes
Back on the environments, the idea was to reduce detail + make them more abstract, to create a more cohesive and distinct look, that worked with the characters. Finding the work of Agnes Giberne helped a lot and I experimented with the style of illustration found in her books
Early on I was getting to grips with what could be achieved with the engine we were using. These scenes were too busy, did not have the mysterious quality we wanted and didn’t consider how the characters would be used, which would be a major consideration as dev continued
