@karanoidandroid well, i can think of two reasons why :
1. the second season of AA anime's made by a different studio which is Cloverworks Studio, the first being A-1 Studio. they have to make a new ref
2. Edgey's hair wasn't consistent on some of the early artwork scans and they based it off'em
