Mahou Shoujo that focuses a lot on the personal lives of the girls and how the fight-against-evil slash double life affects their bonds with others and with each other. Moderate angst and heavier topics that keeps the older audience engaged. Sailor moon-esque.

VBS:
The mahou shoujo that has a lot of shonen elements with how adventure, battles, and working to grow stronger form a big part of the plot. Still pretty light hearted and the angst is very limited. Cardcaptor Sakura-esque.

WXS:
The happy kind where being a mahou shoujo is all fun and power-of-friendship but still a solid plot. Very light angst. Mahou Doremi-esque.
