I painted this bc I LOVE the feeling of in the ref photo; the idea of looking good for yourself and having fun with it! I like associating positive symbolism with the stuff I make, bc I feel more obliged to act on it. Put your money where your mouth is right?

After many years of being sinfully ignorant, I finally decided to dive deeper into John Singer Sargent. Here are some quick introductory studies, but I'll be repeating these paintings a few times to learn how to make these colors/techniques mine. Wish me luck!
