Started reading Burn the House Down for JP manga club bc I guess we're just on a crime/thriller kick. Revenge story of a girl who vows to take back the life another woman stole from her mother. Not as suspenseful as other Kodansha thrillers I read recently, but it's interesting.

We read this title, Sayonara Miniskirt (EN: Not Your Idol) in my Japanese group's manga club. It ran in Ribon but it's intense and thought-provoking for a middle school shoujo manga.

Tbh most JP manga I read is just shoujo manga but I'm trying to not just impose my tastes lol. It's still mostly my taste tho...

Friends started a Japanese book club but I felt I was too low level to participate (they're reading Natsume Soseki's Bocchan) so I sat out. They're suggesting letting me run a manga club instead heh
