okay here is Skulp. she is the size of a small horse and was born when a rat king laid an egg. somewhere under her matted fur is an issachari stillsuit. she aspires to be a sharpshooter, tinker and chef, despite walking on all fours

realizing how easily i could do Shymera as a chimera build with a stinger tail/burrowing claws/horns/thick fur/wings. psionic stuff would also be appropriate but im still skittish about dipping into that

i also got Spectre, this bloodborne shark nun who is just... god damn. the rotary saw halberd. the habit with its zigzag-tooth fringe & big ridiculous rabbit ears/fins. the "manic edgelord" energy. character design of all time

one of the greatest character designs of all time. i feel like there's bits n pieces of it in everything i've ever designed

things i learned abt Yuji Uekawa's SA art:
-lines of action everywhere. character art made up of so many interlocking curves that i'm amazed it works
-lots of edge lighting to suggest volume/depth without a specific lightsource. reminds me of traditional tattoo/graffiti values
