@baldbookgeek It really set the tone for attempts at "serious" western-style fantasy in anime, but was kind of divorced from the literary tradition that D&D emerged from. Ironically, the deconstructions of Lodoss-style fantasy are more in line with D&D's literary origins.

Well, my journey watching the Slayers anime has come to an end. That was a really great show that was very entertaining throughout and the cast of characters made it all worth while
Man i loved it, it's had its comedic moments and a good share of touching moments too.
you think '90s anime style' is just sailor moon. I'm over here watching Rayearth, Ghost Sweeper Mikami, Slayers and playing Tokimeki Memorial 2. We are not the same.
