I'm honestly not sure what they are trying to do with Ruby and Yang but if anything It makes me think of the difference in upbringing with more simplistic clothes for both Ruby and Yang been from a small community as Patch is often presumed to be.

Yeah I don't think so, popular as it used to be? Probably not but it's still got it's share a good chunk of fans to keep it around. Japan wanted it back and they loved it, they wanted to make theirs.
