2017 was an INCREDIBLE year for games, but i have to pick the amazing Nier Automata. special shoutouts to Night in the Woods, Horizon Zero Dawn, Zelda BotW, and What Remains of Edith Finch
2017: i don't care about horizon zero dawn, sorry! And I hate DDLC! (A Mortician's Tale was cute but not mind-blowing to me) So NieR Automata it is!

2017 - u already kno what it is. one of the best, most ambitious games ever made. masterfully plays with expectations, perspective, and emotion. explores the depths of humanity, relationships, and consciousness in a palatable way. unbelievable detail. context for everything. sexy
2017. nier automata. very easy pick, favorite game of all time. also 2017 was a great year for gaming. that's when botw, little nightmares, night in the woods, and horizon zero dawn came out

an absolute triumph of game design from both Platinum and Yoko Taro. one of my all time faves
2017: Nier: Automata. it could be nothing but this. i played some other really good games from this year but nothing even stands a chance next to automata. what a fucking masterpiece

THERE IT IS! MY FAVOURITE! the only game i've ever intentionally gone plat on, this one's so important to me. the political undertones, the character tragedy, beauty in meaninglessness... 2017 was also generally just the best gaming year to me
