1. RWBY Volume 1 (2013 Web Animation)
It's rough in places, Blake could've been better especially since she feels underdeveloped but I actually do think it works well as a start for the series.
All and all, it does what it needs to as a set up for the series.

i've seen some discussion on whether characters v1 or v8 designs are better...
personally what bums me out in later volumes is how little characters use their personal colours in outfits and just wear desaturated or grey/brown/white colours instead.
