What Anime got you really into Anime?

I grew up watching stuff like Sailor Moon & Pokemon, but it wasn't until 2012 that I got REALLY into it thanks to these shows!:

A lot of loved manga series were created by women, you can't ignore all of that

got me thinking, imagine if Berserk was handled by the same company that does Black Lagoon. That series is well looked after and has gotten 3 artbooks within the span of 15 years. It took Berserk to get 1, albeit mediocre, after 24 years...
