此はセカイ系ジャンルの「世界」に於いて「ワタシとアナタ」というエヴァにもあった相対構図がウテナによってより明確になったとも言える。
やはりセカイ系アニメは「主人公」と「ヒロイン」の関係性が重要だ。
ソレが同性であっても主人公とヒロインによる相対効果が働く場合もある。
エヴァにあった抽象的表現要素を整理整頓し、よりセカイ系としての研きをかけ洗練させたのがウテナだ。
同時に普遍的である戦うヒロイン＝フェミニズムをテーマにもしたアニメである。
ウテナに於ける「セカイ」とは学園の中だけの事だ。
高い塔から見渡せる範囲だけが世界の「全て」なのだ。
