Their vibrant vermillion & pink armor makes their gallantry shine through. The feather decoration on their helmets adds to the fantasy element of the genre, too.

Gonna bring up some old fanart of my favorite class design from DQ3: female warrior.

I think a contributing factor is that her hair & mean look in the old artwork reminds me of blonde Launch from Dragon Ball.

The first year they really went with the Halloween aesthetic. The follow years they decided to use it to play up specific themes. 2nd was classic games/Dragon quest, 3rd was kaiju/classic movie monster, third was magical girls.
