Rukia did this way earlier, But its the way her face changes from "determined to protect this human" to "I CAN'T LET ICHIGO GET HURT" plus Ichigo's horrified expression it gets me too, which makes Riruka's sacrifice more heartwarming, she knows the way they care about each other
I think about the fact Riruka was moved by the way Rukia thought of Ichigo that she selflessly decided to take the blow for both of them when Rukia jumped infront of the blade that wouldve hurt them both
