攻殻機動隊の草薙素子って使っている義体のボディ自体は量産型で中身の部品をかなりカスタムしているらしいから、ガンダムでいうところのザクみたいな量産機をベースにスラスターや電子部品を最新のものに換装しているイメージなのか...

I remember watching SAC on Adult Swim when I was like 12-13 and not fully understanding what was going on but I loved it anyway lol Definitely my favorite iteration of Major Kusanagi, too.
