Can anyone explain to me, I mean this I REALLY want to know because I don't understand... How is it that anime like Lucky Star and Senko-san can come under fire for promoting pedophilia, yet shows like big Mouth and this upcoming Cuties movie are A-OK and not subject to ridicule?

Though that hardly matters. Manga and anime often use wild colors for hair/eyes, that doesn't mean their domestic characters aren't Japanese. Look at Lucky Star for instance
These shows are more than a decade old. You could say, I'm into the classics 😎
