Kara no Kyoukai is a difficult series to recommend but once you dive into either form of media it becomes an incredibly thought-provoking experience.
Shiki is a great protagonist, as she grapples with philosophical debates between her detachment and reconciliation with humanity.

If you think Shiki is a murder apologists you completely misinterpreted her entire story and her entire code.
