We also get our fair share of Kirito and Asuna slice of life which develops a solid slow-build relationship. You see them begin to trust one another and put their lives in each other's hands. Honestly I am much more satisfied with their relationship than ever before.
Honestly chilling, Morte shows the gradual creation of Laughing Coffin and the possibility that at any moment, people could die.
His existence gradually shows the near-explosion that would begin the first wave of player killing; ultimately a massacre. A very satisfying antagonist
I will say that Kizmel was a great addition to the cast.
She was a great means in world building for SAO that I'd never known until this point.
The mysterious NPC that seemingly acted very life-like added a lot of flavor to the dynamic between the main group.
Finished

Light 9/10
Holy smokes. Even better than the previous novel.
All of the build-up, character writing, world building, and palpable tension was amplified.
The focus on "quest chains" was fantastic. https://t.co/bEtZtFnyxT
Simon Blackquill's favorite anime is Sword Art Online!
Though I'd almost say that the slow building slice of life and budding romance is what really tends to shine here, since nothing is assumed and it's all built from scratch.
