Alfred Leslie Buell (1910–1996) was a US pin-up artist. Rejected by the draft in WW II, he spent the war painting popular and patriotic pin-ups. After the war, he contributed to Esquire's Gallery of Glamour. He retired from commercial art in 1965.

I remember this was a theory on CN fandom but I personally think she's based on Rikki-Tikki-Tavi a short story about a mongoose chasing away two snakes that came to hurt a child (protecting Lisa). The book was known to have an animated film adaption in Soviet Union in 1965.
