The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck is one of the #ChildrensBooks written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. It was first published by Frederick Warne & Co. in July 1908. Potter composed the book at Hill Top, a working farm in the Lake District she bought in 1905. #BeatrixPotter🐰

The Rabbit's Christmas Party, by Beatrix Potter (1892) 4/6
When the piper became tired, the rabbits started a game of "Blind Man's Bluff." One rabbit would be blindfolded. Then that rabbit would try to tag the other rabbits.

The Rabbit's Christmas Party, by Beatrix Potter (1892) 2/6
The room was decorated for Christmas with holly on the walls. When the rabbits sat down to eat, there were not enough chairs. So some rabbits sat on baskets.

The first edition of The Tale of #PeterRabbit was published privately on 16th Dec 1901, when #BeatrixPotter had 250 copies printed for her family & friends. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was given a copy for his children. Some #illustrations below. #ChildrensBooks #womenartists #arte
From the classic Beatrix Potter story, the Tale of Jeremy Fisher. I had no idea how to draw him when I started but I actually like how this one turned out so I hope you all like it too!

Yesterday was the amazing #Beatrixpotter's Birthday!
Born on the 28th July 1866
She is credited with preserving much of the land that now constitutes the Lake District National Park.
I hear it’s #BeatrixPotter ‘s birthday... I love her artwork! This piece was directly inspired by it. #kidlitart

#BeatrixPotter, children’s #writer & #illustrator, was born in #London on 28th July 1866. In her first & most famous story, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, (1901), our eponymous hero, after much drama, escapes the farmer & ending up sharing his father’s fate in a pie. #FolkloreThursday
#Didyouknow that #BeatrixPotter was a self-taught illustrator? Growing up she copied from nature, books and drawing manuals. She also studied the works of Constable, Gainsborough and Turner. This still life drawing of fruit was made when Potter was just 17.
