If you want to tell an Elseworld where Superman is evil, don't make it at the cost of Lois Lane. Make an Elseworld where Superman and Lois Lane are evil TOGETHER. That at the very least would be entertaining and maybe even hot. Just make them love each other like regular Clois.

Gotham By Gaslight, the first and one of the best Elseworlds comics they put out, as well as being one of the best Batman comics, it is also my pick for the best single issue that Mike Mignola ever did.
