Due to firing laser blasts, it very loose qualifies as a fictional weapon, especially since no bullets are drawn and Nack usually misses them, Eggman's done this too in IDW...But it likely is a case of "what's yes today is no tomorrow", as Nack originally fired bullets.

I really like Zavok's 180 in IDW. His first appearance had him being evil as usual, but when we see him in a more intimate talk with Starline, giving him the right words he needed to become the individual he is turning into.
