Okay perhaps I was a handful of days early for #invertefest BUT here are more inverts to make up for it.
Enjoy this porcelain crab linocut for #ArtAdventCalendar & #Crustmas & #invertefest which I made for #SciArtSeptember this year. The porcelain crab, is 1 of at least 5 groups of decapod crustaceans which have evolved to be more crab-shaped in a process known as carsinisation.
Massive Fossil, Scarborough Bluffs.
A Toronto-centric piece to kick-off #ArtAdventCalendar
(And maybe #invertefest too).
i dont have any photos but i have my bugsona Lycidra the trilobite beetle dragon #InverteFest

I haven't watched much #StarTrek The Animated Series, but these giant, hyper-intelligent, telepathic #slugs have been brought to my attention. Exited to watch this episode. Looks hilarious

Happy #InverteFest !
And you can't celebrate a festival of Invertebrates without one the earliest arthropods, Anomalocaris!
For #InverteFest - some #SciArt of shipworms!
There worm-shaped creatures are actually heavily-derived bivalves that have evolved to feed on wood. They are also known as "termites of the sea".

A yellow watchman goby and its pistol shrimp friend for #SundayFishSketch’s #GobyWeek theme (and #InverteFest)
Final day of #InverteFest already?? Here's a preview of an illustration I've just finished for @InstBirdPop, which will be released in a couple of months. The wood boring beetles aren't the main focus of the image, but they're sure part of the story!
Here's some #SciArt of the Bone House Wasp for #InverteFest
You can hear me talk about the macabre habits of the Bone House Wasp here: https://t.co/BYfiGfbDRl
#InverteFest here’s a giant squid sketch I did a few weeks ago. I didn’t use any references, so the anatomy is a little wonky. I wanted to draw one with its tentacles mostly retracted - they’re always depicted fully-extended, but that’s not their neutral state (see photo).
The Blue Orchard Mason Bee is one of my most popular #bee #prints, possibly because it's blue.... maybe because it's adorable and a great #pollinator of our fruit trees. #invertefest Find this #linocut #Osmia Lignaria #printmaking #artistssavethebees #po… https://t.co/hXcnXnBtks
In the small things, I find great beauty. #InverteFest #sciart
