Eugène Delacroix, “Lion of the Atlas” (1829) Copies
Lithography, printing technique invented in 1796, allowed for Delacroix’s Romantic sensibility to be displayed. He was drawn to strength & violence of wild animals.

A feat of paper engineering- Bookano Stories No. 2 by S. Louis Giraud (c. 1935). There were 17 of these volumes published between 1934-50. Printed using a photolitho process, they were cheaper than chromolithography used in earlier German movable books. Colours still bright today

In 1965, Asawa received a fellowship residency at the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles. She spent two months there embracing and experimenting with lithographic techniques (something she had not previously explored) under the guidance of skilled printers.
