The are ghosts of whales killed by people, lurking in the Sea of Japan. I was inspired by bioluminescence and transparent deep sea fish, I think they make great spectral creatures.

for In the folklore of Cambridgeshire this creature is said to haunt Slough Hill Lane. It's described to have the body of a shaggy black sheep dog and the head of a monkey with huge shiny eyes. My brain just registered "huge shiny eyes" and went "aye-aye".
