@sweetstrychnine Ahh! Thank you! Shes from my moonlight imp species! They have transparent hair and moon/ night sky themed colors. Their pupils are either stars or crescent shapes.
I reaaally wanna do a polyship with blitz and my main oc remi with the new purple bean xD
I take a lot of inspirations, and some of these even are not my usual "style", like Rise of the Guardians or Wolfwalkers... but I really like their visuals and the way they design characters and environments using more geometric shapes. Also... LOOK AT THESE COLORS, gorgerous

Huge amounts of gratitude to @JimenaBuenaVida for collecting NYC. I'm honored you saw its worth to invest in. Such a fan of her brilliant shapes.❤️🧡 🫂
In contemporary cartoons I notice it more when the eye shape is hand-drawn (like on Star here), but the pupil-white-shines are clearly ellipse-tool shapes.
It's subtle, but it's a mark of two aesthetics that are at odds with each other.
Title: Lil horned Girl
Finally! A character with two horns intact, hehe. I tried a more painterly style with this one, but I have my usual style in the next slide, which one do you prefer?
I did forget about the freckles, some of the darker blue on the shirt and the shapes.
PLUS even if King doesn't look like his dad, if we assume Titans need a mate reproduce, King could just take after his *other* parent. And even discounting that the Titan is humanoid and King is canine, they do have similar horn shapes.

6. My process is just me playing around.
I find an animal I like, & start playing. I experiment with body sizes/shapes, and facial features like eye shapes. Then I play around with colors till I find a combo I like. Naming comes 10 yrs later.
#DrawWithMe
Artists aren't born.
They're made.
Here is a little #DrawWithMe tutorial that I had done for Instagram a long while ago.
Shapes. Gestures. Details.
Practice practice practice.

@Kanae07774320 Don't focus on the details! As you can see here the details are just an illusion. In reality those are just a bunch of scribbles, lines, and simple shapes. Exc. For the cabinet I just made a simple square and added red and blue lines as books!
another sisters daily life. also a practice to me to draw different body shapes. (repost)
I started w/ some keywords and colors: cute techwear, soft pop, streetwear, soda, pastel pink + mint + white (my vtuber Iro's color scheme), triangles, boxy shapes. I started with rough sketches + cleaner iterations of the batwing jackets since they were my centerpiece
Leyendecker style study. I used a pose ref and a few of Leyendecker's advertising pieces to try and replicate his brushstrokes and shapes.
Detail shots!
@NanaAsteria a quick example I found is these two images from pixiv.
Yae Miko's design doesn't have that many complex shapes to it, mostly just 4 long shapes, while the micro detail has a beautiful flower embroidery. and little details on the edges to break up the shapes.
@ManlnTheBrowser Thought it would be fun to share Art Trades I've done throughout the years I've been online? :>
I think I got better at BG shapes...? 👀😂💙

@Shade_of_stars I love being an artist because I can let my thoughts hit the page, it’s my “me” time where I can just zone out and play with colour and texture and shapes. I’ve also only been amback doing it for a year or two, and seeing my skills sharpen has been so satisfying.
For me these ambiguous blobs were super exciting. It presented a ton of interesting possibilities that I wanted to actively solve for. This was already similar to my normal workflow of throwing random shapes and trying to pull a readable image from those shapes.
