I use photos for reference, although there are colors/ features that look good in real life but not so much in comics (Like outlining teeth for example) I like taking a color skin sample from a photo, apply it to a comic character and then I just adjust levels

I used to. I don't anymore - the effects aren't the same, expectantly. Blush doesn't hit the same, nor does shading - variations in general play differently. Its the same with photography. They're similar - but there's differences for sure.

I've learned a lot about mingling with webcomic artists here. Although I have sold short comic strips and have illustrated books for clients, I'm more of a designer that writes/draws. That being said I feel I am some sort of "hybrid" creature, it's great to be here!

I have to make my own schedules and deadlines. Especially now that I have transitioned to full freelance work from home. Plus I do chores around the house. I say devote an hour or two if possible, everyday for your comics, writing or drawing.

I remember there was a time in which I was teaching so many design subjects at a uni, I had to hide in an empty classroom to eat something when I had a short break. That was a year in which I was not very productive with drawing or writing. Sometimes it's hard.
