Soh Moriyama was responsible for the design but not responsible for the colors. Even though he think that Evangelion's Unit 01 color scheme give it a threatening look!!

Soh was thinking in ImperialDramon and Arkadimon when designing.

I actually had no idea those new evil digimon from the new adventure were for algomon bc I'm bad at remembering names but thats actually pretty cool because I remember this thing from the ds games and thought it deserved way better spotlight at the time tbh

Another thing I've noticed, it seems they used the Savers color-scheme of Ultimate-level Algomon. Savers Algomon has red fingers and a purple horn, while the Algomon in the DRB and all official artworks has green fingers and a red horn.

Algomon's red horn is based on his VA's hair in Ultimate Power! Activate Burst Mode!!

Hanawa is a japanese actor who also voiced Hagurumon in Savers.

According to Soh Moriyama they also considered doing a caricature of him, but abandoned the idea.
