I've always felt that the Triassic doesn't get it's due. The long necked Tanystropheus (Long Hinged) belonged to the clade Archosauromorpha, a diverse group of ancient reptiles that were the ancestors of dinosaurs.

I read somewhere they used the digit to grasp things
And I thought it made sense based on how the muscles of archosaur hands are structured
Digit 5 having a muscle to our thumb that moves the digit toward the palm

Before there were ankylosaurs, there were Aetosaurs. The first try at an archosaurs tank. Desmatosuchus is one of the numerous of the Chinless formation, one of the geological formations featured in my in-prep book. Aetosaurs came in all sizes also

Sketch. Long before crocodilians appeared, there were various groups of reptiles trying very similar body plans. Among them was Litorosuchus (Middle Triassic, China), a 2 m long, semiaquatic archosaurifom related to the odd Late Triassic Vancleavea

Here's the thiccy I did for the contest by ! I designed him based off of a mix of 1985, 2000, 2014, and Shin! Also some archosaur anatomy thrown in there. I really wanted the design to scream "#GODZILLA" with my own flare!

Poposauroids are among my favorite lineage within Pseudosuchia (the line of archosaurs related to crocodilians). There were so many interesting forms, among them several bipedal taxa that looked like how people used to think dinosaurs looked like

WIP. Detail of an illustration showing Dinocephalosaurus, a marine Tanystropheid that is the only archosauromorph for which live-bearing is known. We briefly talked about this animal in the latest ep of we recorded last Sunday, out on the 22nd

I made a quick hexapod dragon anatomy sheet for all your artisty needs. Its heavily based in archosaurs because archosaurus are the best animals. Please let me know if you have any questions.
