Castle Rock of Triermain played host to King Arthur and a group of faeries. Although childless with Guinevere, Gyneth was his daughter by the faerie Guendolen. She was sent into an enchanted sleep by Merlin as punishment for her cruelty

Although some believe it can still be seen flying around the church at night.

A 'hob-thross' lived in Millom Castle. He slept by the fire during the day, and worked all night, doing the chores the humans didn’t want to do. One harsh winter he was offered clothes, a terrible insult to a hob-thross, so he left.

In Cumbrian dialect, fellon-wood is deadly nightshade. As the name suggests, it's one of our most poisonous plants. Giving witches the power of flight, add it to a potion that includes bats blood and the fat of a child.

-Little (6”x6”) oil study of a birthday rose. Have now netted off all of our roses from the deer so am optimistic that I might have some homegrown ones to paint this year!🦌😬🌹🎨
