Late to this, but I absolutely adored “Ghostcloud” by .

This is a brilliant debut. Fantastically realised characters, a great plot, a truly mean villain and a marvellous dystopian London setting. It would be a perfect Y6 read hints of Dickens with a touch of Gaiman.

We love this tropical beach scene, beautifully illustrated by Joanna Kerr for the cover of The Holiday Bookshop, written by Lucy Dickens.

In 1824, due to dire family financial straits, Charles Dickens (aged 12) began manual labour in a blacking factory in London. His father, John Dickens, was committed to The Marshalsea Prison as a debtor. This experience would influence much of the literature of Charles Dickens.

The reason Dickens is unimpressed is "by reason of the hideous paintings with which its walls are covered. These represent the martyrdoms of saints and early Christians; and such a panorama of horror and butchery, no man could imagine in his sleep." How bad could they be? Oh. 21/

Got high and sketched these random concepts outta me head.

(Before I got high, I had to make sure my lil Dickens settled down, since he was still getting overworked about the sight and smell of kittens in the house)
