I find it cute how Hanji’s cat is mostly white and has only over the eyes a black part and Levi’s cat is mostly black but has on the nose part white almost fitting together like a jigsaw puzzle like Levi Hanji eyes matching.
I had a fun time appreciating all these design elements. Although this style may not be familiar for western audience, they actually all go well together.
For me, to drive this style home, the most fitting pose is of course derived from the Nio (temple guardian) buddhism statues.
The body ornaments and the elaborate hair bun reminds me of various buddhism sculptures and paintings from the Tang dynasty.
Lots of such sculptures are found along the silk road (especially Dunhuang), which are dessert areas (west of China). Super fitting for the Gerudo dessert.
