HOLLYWOOD STEPS OUT (1941) Tex Avery’s classic mockery of nearly every star in Hollywood. Excellent caricatures by Ben Shenkman, and dead-on voicework largely provided by teenager Kent Rogers. Amazing they got away with the risqué bubble dance bit.

It's been ages since I've watched this but after Sunset Boulevard the other night I'm compelled to revisit. Next to Blue Velvet, this is my favorite from Lynch. A twisty neo-noir that's a harrowing takedown of Hollywood.

Watched last night (not a rare occasion - it’s an annual rewatch) and the bank heist and ensuing shoot-out remains the finest extended action sequence in all modern Hollywood.

Hollywood. I’m STILL waiting for ’Emily Brontosaurus’. A period biopic where the famed author eats a strange egg on a hill then turns into a giant, evil dinosaur and destroys Yorkshire.
