Depends on the texture of clothing to me a lot of the time, if I draw in any clothing wrinkles I circle them around the shape with shading, as well as emphasize the under portion with shading to bring out weight! I also keep the top a little lighter for that rounder feel!

art thing i wish i tried sooner was "sketch in color" or "sketch with flats"

used to feel like i had to perfect my sketch before i do lines
perfect lines before adding base colors
perfect flats before shading, etc

i have a hard time figuring out forms/shapes with lines alone!

You’re welcome, it looks great and really unique! For me, I have to focus on bright colors, cel shading, or bold line work otherwise I won’t be able to tell much of what’s going on. I’m not sure if you can tell, but I make stuff like this with watercolor or ink
