For reference. Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin-28 debuted in 1956, and we mostly know it for being the first giant robot piloted by a remote control in japanese fiction. Tezuka's Astro Boy debuted in 1952, but it wasn't a giant robot tho. And then we had 1972 Nagai's Mazinger Z.
Discotek announced that it's bringing some great old anime to Blu-ray. Lupin the Third Series 2 arrives January 29, with Blu-rays of 51 Beyblade episodes and 80s Shin Tetsujin 28. Two Galaxy Express movies follow in February. Good beginning of the year for anime on Blu-Ray fans.
30th batch (that slayer drawing was a collaboration between me and tetsujinforce)
Here's my Tetsujin 28-Go and Monster art colored in celebration for the recent @discotekmedia announcement for the 2004 Tetsujin 28 series! Colors by @ruby_ruberri #鉄人28号 #横山光輝 #モンスター
Some old art, Tetsujin-28! Or Gigantor, if you're more familiar with that.
This one took waaaaay to much to complete.
Here's a little something that have been stuck in my mind since i saw him.
He's Maou from taiko no tetsujin 3DS series!
His battle theme is soooo goood : Maou No Showtime
There's lots of misconceptions about the Tetsujin manga in english, likely conflated with the 2004 series. One is that Tetsujin was always created by Shotaro's father. This element was added for a re-release of the manga, which cuts out several important arcs of the original run.
