Just finished reading THE OTHER HISTORY OF THE DCU and apart from a lot of great nostalgia for Gotham Central and New52 and some poignant bits about hiding your identity, it also had a very special treat just for me.

Writer John Broome was born OTD in 1913. The writer contributed large chunks of the DCU over his career, including the creation of Green Lantern, Phantom Stranger, Elongated Man and the Silver Age Flash redesign. My first Broome stories were his 50s SF reprints. He died in 1999.
