Perhaps as a reaction to the bloat in Gen 4, the 5th Gen covers 2001-2002 and is the smallest in a while. Once again, it's not necessarily led by the V-Pets, but by the Tamers anime (and recolors of the anime Digimon).

Roseguardian in all games that he’s appeared in happens to be a green recolored restless armor who’s sole purpose is to protect Psaro’s lover Rose.

In the Legend of the Dark novel, he’s given more depth to his appearance to where he has red eyes, pointy ears and orange hair.
